Bali 7 Big Events in 2022
The Island of the Gods Bali will again host 7 large-scale events. These events include the Grand Fondo New York (March), the Bali Arts Festival (June), the Maybank Bali Marathon and Soundrenaline (September), the Bali Triathlon and G-20 Summit (October), and the Bali Democracy Forum (December).
These large-scale events will be escorted by the Bali Police.
“This is our challenge going forward to secure the 7 big events,” said Deputy Chief of the Bali Police Brigadier General Ketut Suardana during the year-end release which took place at the Bali Police Headquarters, Wednesday, December 29, 2021.
The one-star general on the shoulder explained that at the end of 2021 or during this pandemic, his party was successful in securing the International Badminton Festival event which took place in Nusa Dua. And there are also Indonesia Master, Indonesia Open, and BWF World Tour Final events.Chairman of the DPP Indigenous Peoples of the Archipelago (Matra), as a forum for the kings, Mangku Alam II has met with the Deputy Governor of Bali Tjok Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati to request permission for the event on Wednesday (6/7/2022).
The festival will be held from August 16 to August 20, 2022, with kings from 206 kingdoms across Indonesia participating and only 30 world kingdoms confirming attendance. “Foreign kingdoms that will attend include Hawaii, Laos, Spain, Uganda, Gana, Congo, Syria and Lebanon,” said Mangku Alam II in front of the Deputy Governor of Bali, Cok Ace, as reported by Antara.
Mangku Alam explained that Matra had been formed since 2016, with the aim of preserving and strengthening the customs and culture that grew in the archipelago.
Meanwhile, according to him, the most priority event in security is securing the Group of Twenty Summit (G-20 Summit) which will be held in October 2022. The G-20 summit which is escorted by 12,000 joint personnel is planned to be attended by Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
“The deployment of 12,000 personnel is to ensure that the activities which are attended by the President and delegates from 20 countries run well,” he explained.
According to him, the challenge in question is because currently we are still trying to control the Covid-19 virus. So that the holding of 7 major events resulted in a large crowd of people.
Of the seven major events, there are several important activities carried out by the Bali Police and the community. Among other things, restoration of mangrove forests. This activity is not only to protect the ecosystem but also to provide an example to the world that Indonesia is the lungs of the world.
Another security focus is the League I football match and part of efforts to restore the national economy, particularly revitalizing the Bali tourism sector.
The steps taken by the Bali Police are intensively socializing the Health Protocol (Prokes) and encouraging the acceleration of vaccination. He emphasized that the Covid-19 vaccination stage in Bali is among the best nationally.From this goal, the Deputy Governor who is familiarly called Cok Ace was pleased and appreciated Matra’s good intentions by choosing Bali as the gathering location for the kings of the archipelago and abroad.
Apart from being the location for the inauguration of new administrators and a series of traditional and cultural festivals of the archipelago, Cok Ace assessed that this activity was in line with the commitment of the Bali Provincial Government in strengthening customs and culture.
“This activity contributes to efforts to recover the Balinese economy, which has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, moreover Matra activities will also be attended by kings from a number of countries,” said Cok Ace.
